Human Resources Consulting

We provide new clients with a one-hour consultation at no charge and with no obligation to utilize us. This consultation is so we can learn a little more about your company and your needs and it is also so you can learn a little more about us and determine if our firm is a fit for your needs. 


After the consultation, if you determine that you would like to hire us, we will do up a consulting agreement and send it over for your review and signature. The agreement covers items such as our hourly rate, any expenses we have discussed, the scope of work, and more.

What is the cost for an initial discussion with Talented Solutions?

We provide an initial one-hour consultation with us to discuss your HR needs at no charge. This allows us to learn a little bit more about your business and it allows you to find out a little more about us to decide if we are going to be a fit for you. 

How do you charge for your services?

  • Hourly: for a short-term relationship
  • Monthly retainer: Discounted rates, best for a long-term relationship 
  • Fixed value projects: for a specific project, typically for one-time only projects

We have a staff member that does HR off the side of his or her desk. Why should we outsource our HR?

Ask yourself this… does our administrative assistant know what questions we can and cannot legally ask during a job interview? Do they know what the rules are around random drug testing? If I were to ask them today, could they tell me off the top of their head what legislation affects employers and employees? If you can’t say yes to those questions, you are putting your organization at risk.

When is it time for me to hire my own in-house HR person?

 

Typically, once your organization reaches 100 employees, it’s time to have an in-house HR person.

That being said, it depends on what you want your HR person to be doing. Do you want them to be a strategic part of your organization, where they have a seat at the executive table and assist you with the growth of your business, or are you simply looking for someone to deal with personnel and that sort of thing? If you’re looking to have them be a strategic part of your business, we’d recommend having one and a half or two positions in HR once you reach 100 employees.

Do you carry out the actual HR work for us, or do you teach me on best practices for doing the work?

We actually do both. It depends on what you'd prefer. If you need and want us carrying out all your HR functions, we can do that. If you want your managers and supervisors carrying out the bulk of the work with training, coaching, and support from us, we can do that as well. Your business is unique, so we work with you to figure out what is going to work best for your needs. 

We have an HR team; can we hire you for a special project or on an as-needed basis?

For sure! If you have an HR team, we are happy to support them in special projects. Maybe you need some policies and procedures created or perhaps you need a short period of support while one of your HR staff members is on holidays or on a leave of some sort. Either way, we’re happy to help you out.
